Insurance is complicated. Finding the right coverage shouldn’t be.
The Insurance Collective brings insurance companies, independent advice and modern technology together to help you understand your options and find coverage that actually fits.
Insurance doesn’t have to start with an insurance company.
Consumers are expected to understand carriers, captive agents, independent agents, direct writers, specialty programs and policy forms before they can buy anything. The Collective organizes that complexity around you instead.
- Pick a company from an ad, then find out what it will and won’t write.
- Repeat your whole life story at the next company.
- Compare quotes that aren’t for the same coverage.
- Nobody explains what you bought until you need it.
- Start with what you need and where you live.
- We route you — to our advisors and carriers, a specialty program, or a partner — behind the scenes.
- Options come back explained in plain English, side by side.
- A licensed person is one call away, before and after you buy.
From “what do I need?” to covered.
Tell us what you need
A few direct questions — the kind that change the answer. Enough to be accurate, never a 200-question form.
TechnologyWe find the right path
Depending on your situation we can reach insurance companies, independent markets and specialty programs. You never have to know which is which.
Technology · peopleUnderstand your options
Coverage explained in plain English — what it does, what it doesn’t, and what we’d choose if it were ours.
PeopleChoose confidently
Buy or request coverage, or talk it through with an advisor first. Then we stay in the relationship.
PeopleStart with the coverage, not the company.
- 01 Auto Pays for injuries and damage when a car you own is involved in a crash, and for the car itself if you choose.
- 02 Home Rebuilds your house, replaces what is inside it, and defends you if someone is hurt on your property.
- 03 Business A package built around what you actually do: liability, property, vehicles, and employees, quoted together.
- 04 Life Replaces your income for the people who depend on it. Term life is simple, inexpensive, and usually the right answer.
- 05 Umbrella Adds a million dollars or more of liability protection above your auto and home policies, for very little money.
- 06 Professional liability Covers claims that your advice, service, or work caused someone a financial or physical loss.
One question at a time, answered straight.

Buying a house
Your lender needs proof of insurance before closing. Getting it right takes about a week, so start when the offer is accepted, not the day before.

A licensed teen in the house must be on the policy — and the increase is real. There are five things that soften it.
BusinessStarting a business
The first certificate someone asks you for is the moment insurance becomes real. Getting the first policy right is easier than fixing it later.
The software finds the options. A licensed advisor helps you choose.
Behind the Collective is an independent agency with real people in Michigan who have handled the claim, read the exclusion, and argued with the underwriter. They are the reason the plain-English explanations are accurate.
- Independent. Not owned by a carrier. Not paid to steer you to one.
- Licensed. Every recommendation comes from a person licensed in your state.
- In the relationship after the sale. Renewals, claims, changes — the same people.
- Honest about limits. When a partner or another market is the better fit, we say so and route you there.
Three things people ask first.
Is The Insurance Collective an insurance company?
No. We are a consumer platform and an independent advisory. Coverage is written by the insurance companies and programs we work with; our operating agency, Roscommon Insurance Group, quotes and services it.
Do I have to pick a company first?
No — that is the point. Start with what you need and where you are. We find the path: our own advisors and carriers, a specialty program, or a partner when that is the better fit.
What does it cost to use?
Nothing. We are paid by the insurance company or program when coverage is placed, the same way any independent agency is. That relationship never changes what we recommend.
